Marble Surface

I created this blog to share my blunt,

“think outside the box” approach to management, leadership, investing and work-life balance to help fuel the drive for growth and creative thinking.

"Magic happens when you connect people.

I credit much of my success to always making it a point to truly get to know people and help them whenever I can. It’s become the backbone of our firm’s success.

Women founders in particular are often highly skilled at making connections that can help advance their businesses.

Founder & CEO, McPherson Strategies

I attempt to emulate this quote that hangs in my office. “Risk more than others think is safe. Care more than others think is wise. Dream more than others think is practical. Expect more than others think is possible.” ~ Cadet Maxim

Good or bad this is how I live my life and not many can handle this way of thinking. I have heard from many people that you either love or hate me. For those of you that are willing to do the unexpected and expect the impossible, I hope you'll enjoy reading about my experiences and can learn and grow from them. Perhaps sharing my adventures can ease your path or even save you from making some of the same mistakes and show what is possible. That's my goal- to help others.  I have been fortunate to have some great mentors and want to give back because anything can be accomplished if you apply yourself and sometimes that includes learning something from others.

The Leap

"Risk more than others think is safe" includes my experiences analyzing and evaluating risk and why taking the leap is worth it.

Painted Heart

"Care more than others think is wise" for me includes family and friends as well as caring for yourself, and treating your employees like family too.

Sleeping Beauty

"Dream more than others think is practical" for me is envisioning the future that I want, setting goals, then working to make them happen.

Climbing Rope

"Expect more than others think is possible" is demanding the best from my employees, my management team and myself.
