My mob will take your mob on any day of the week!

As promised, here are the staff responses to the culture of Ignite Funding. I also need to mention that the culture runs through both companies that I lead, so you will see some responses from the staff at Preferred Trust as inclusion runs through our veins.

This is what employees had to say:

1. If I had to choose one word to describe the culture at Ignite Funding, it would be “special.”  Ignite Funding has made the workspace fun, inclusive, thought-provoking, full of hard work, and, at times, a little wacky (in the best possible way). I can 100% say the culture at Ignite Funding is something I have never experienced with any other employer. I know that I have grown a lot by working here!

2. If I had to pick one way to describe Ignite Funding’s culture, it would be “organized chaos.” And not chaos in the negative term that most would think. Chaos means fun and excitement, and you never know what you are going to expect! We are organized, but we are a crazy group of people who work hard, play hard, get along, laugh together, and want to see each other succeed. What other company has pickleball tournaments every Friday?

3. The culture is ambitious and competitive. I can’t even count how many “competitions” I’ve been in or heard…whether they were in a joking manner or for real stakes. It’s cool to see people take their jobs seriously, which in turn makes you want to “compete” and stay motivated.

4. You and the management team do a great job creating an environment that is fun, inclusive, and unique from any company I’ve ever experienced. Something I love and recognize often about Ignite is that although we have a lot of fun, everyone can come together as a team and put in the work to get things done; it is a “work hard, play hard” mentality. I’ve never worked with a group of such productive but also entertaining people, and I feel very fortunate to continuously experience such a wonderful company culture!

5. The personalities of our companies are fun, collaborative, friendly, flexible, and diverse.

6. I appreciate you taking the time to write this and show that you care. While I am still new and learning the culture of Ignite, so far, so good. Many here have made me feel welcome. I also appreciate the things management does to boost morale.

7. The company culture that YOU have created here at Ignite can only truly be judged when it is “finished”. When an employee leaves, they will give their unadulterated opinions. Most importantly, when you are “finished” and decide to leave, what culture will remain? In my humble opinion, what you have created will last well past your physical years in the office. Although decisions can be critiqued on a one-off basis, what isn’t up for debate is the legacy you have already cemented within the culture here at Ignite. As someone who has stood by your side for many, many moons, I can unequivocally proclaim that the culture was created by you and you alone. Once the shock wears off that I read your blog, please take a moment to let everything I have said sink in.

8. Where to begin! Ignite Funding’s culture is how every company’s culture should be. We are the standard, and the bar is high. Coming from a huge corporation in the finance world where every negative stereotype of having a job and a boss is true, Ignite Funding is a sigh of relief.

9. When you do well and perform at a high level with Ignite Funding, you are appreciated and celebrated. When you do it at other companies, your peers congratulate you to your face but talk behind your back. Management investigates you and suspects you of questionable behavior because “if you are doing this well, then you must be something wrong.” Laziness is a four-letter word at Ignite Funding; at other companies, everyone is quietly quitting.

10. I want my peers to succeed and do well. I don’t care what their background is, where they are from, or what they identify as, I want them to work hard, laugh at my dad jokes, and call our peers up to be better and not to call them out. I was told if you want to live like the 1% of the wealthy people in this world, find out what the 99% are doing and do the opposite. Ignite Funding is in the top 1% for company culture because we don’t do what the 99% are doing.

11. I fully embrace the positive work environment that you have fostered here at Ignite Funding, and although this is something that we do for a living, it is not hard for me to come to work every day and want to do well for you and as a part of this company. We also have like-minded individuals who come here and work in a positive environment where everyone loves and appreciates the jobs that they do. I cannot embrace anything that is "not" positive regarding the workplace, and I do not get involved in any negativity therefore, if it exists, I know nothing about it.

12. Never in my entire work history have I worked for a company with a management staff that appeared to be as helpful and approachable as the managers that we have here. That is also the case with my coworkers; I am comfortable speaking with and getting to know everyone I encounter in these two offices. I can honestly say that I like working with everyone here. I have never had a bad day; the expectations are easy to understand and adhere to, and we have a lot of fun when we can. All of this is attributed to you and the culture you have created here at Ignite Funding. I will never forget this experience!

13. The culture here at Ignite Funding is to work hard, play hard. I love the team-building comradery that is a huge part of Ignite Funding; it really shows the employees that they are valued & appreciated & makes us want to work harder to go above & beyond for everyone involved, from management to the team to the clients. I thoroughly enjoy working here & look forward to coming to work & pushing myself to do better than my best. I can honestly say without a shadow of a doubt that my co-workers care about each other and work together as a well-oiled machine! Thank you, Carrie, for creating an engaging team environment!

14. Ignite Funding is a purpose-driven culture of excellence on all fronts: business accomplishments and personal achievements are encouraged, expected, and celebrated.

15. I love the culture of our company! I have never worked for an organization that values its employees’ ideas and opinions and puts so much effort into making everyone feel welcome and included. I learned so much from Carrie and our management team about how to be a good and fair leader and how to balance work and fun.

16. Ignite Funding has crafted a workplace where open communication, friendly coworkers, transparent management, and spontaneous fun are the norm. It’s a culture where employees succeed professionally and thrive personally. A company with a truly exceptional team environment crafted carefully by management has not gone unnoticed, and it is truly appreciated.

17. I know I’m not an employee at Ignite Funding, but I read all your blogs, and this one is extremely compelling. From the perspective of a manager – the company’s culture is one that inspires hard work, dedication, a commitment to excellence, and loyalty. We are a family. We don’t always see eye to eye, and we all have different management styles, but our differences are embraced. Our opinions matter. Our efforts are recognized. We work hard, and we play hard.

We’re a little quirky, and let’s be honest, you’ve got to be a little odd, too! The culture is one where you can be yourself. The culture at PT changed for the better in 2014 when the tyranny of a dictatorship was finally ended, and Carrie brought the culture from Ignite and integrated it at PT. In my view, 2014 was the best year for PT. The culture since then has been by far the most successful I’ve ever had the pleasure to be a part of.

18. We work hard and play hard. We have a fun work environment (one where you enjoy coming to work every day), but we also work really hard (not just going through the motions). The teamwork and communication between each department are crucial because we all depend on each other to do our jobs to the best of our ability.  As Jim Collins book Good to Great says, “Good is the enemy of Great!” Here are Ignite, we want to be beyond Great with our vision, culture, innovation and effective leadership.

19. Company culture at Ignite Funding. I'm going to explain this as I do to all the people I interview for a position at Ignite. This place is different. The culture created here is like nothing I have ever experienced. It's what keeps me moving day to day. That work hard, play hard mentality is exactly what I need when it comes to work. Silicon Valley has nothing on us. I can tell that many of the people I've worked with genuinely care about what they do here at Ignite. This isn't just a "job". Not for me. The culture we have inspires free thinking. It generates the willpower we need to grind each day. It never stops, kind of like our boss. This team is much more than coworkers; it's family. If you have the opportunity to "earn" a position at Ignite Funding and experience the company culture, you should feel lucky because there are many people out there who will never understand what we have here.

Thank you to all the employees who participated in responding. Culture is built from the top down and the bottom up. I thrive on seeing everyone succeed and having fun doing it. We will experience good times and bad, but we will always have each other.

Signing off as the Godmother!
